RE: The tariff classification of boys’ outerwear.

Dear Ms. Bailey:

In your letter dated January 4, 2007 you requested a classification ruling.

Submitted style BF7AT1009A is a boy’s hooded fleece jacket. It is made from polyester brushed fleece fabric and has a full front heavy duty zipper opening, raglan sleeves, and rib knit fabric at the sleeve cuffs and garment waist. The country of origin is not known at this time. The style will be sized for boys 7-18.

As requested, the sample garment will be returned to you.

The applicable subheading for style BF7AT1009A will be 6101.30.2020, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for men’s or boys’ windbreakers and similar articles, knitted or crocheted, other than those of heading 6103, of man-made fibers, other, other, boys’. The duty rate will be 28.2 percent ad valorem.
