RE: The tariff classification of 2 bow holders from China

Dear Mr. Busuito:

In your letter dated March 7, 2005, you requested a tariff classification ruling.

You are requesting the tariff classification on two products: a bow holder, item number 333748, and a crossbow holder, item number 333749. Each item consists of a common base and stem-clamping unit with a holding attachment at the top. The two products are used as accessories to archery equipment when one is engaged in the sport of archery. The correct classification will be in Chapter 95 of the HTS, as other accessories to archery equipment.

The applicable subheading for the bow holder, item #333748 and the crossbow holder, item #333749 will be 9506.99.0530, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTS), which provides for articles and equipment for general physical exercise, gymnastics, athletics, other sportsor outdoor games, not specified or included elsewhere in this chapterparts and accessories thereof: other: archery articles and equipment and parts and accessories thereofother. The rate of duty will be free.

This ruling is being issued under the provisions of Part 177 of the Customs Regulations (19 C.F.R. 177).
