RE: The tariff classification of dolls from China..

Dear Mr. Tomenga:

In your letter dated April 27, 2001, on behalf of your client Simon Marketing, Inc., you requested a tariff classification ruling.

With your letter you submitted samples of four plastic female dolls. Each of the dolls is approximately 5 inches in height. All of the dolls have moveable arms. The first doll, US Wrin 03287-003A has purple hair and is dressed in silver pants. The second doll, US Wrin 03287-003B is wearing a long dress with a teal back and white front. The third doll, US Wrin 03287-009A is wearing a white jacket over a pink dress. The fourth doll, US Wrin 03287-009B is dressed in a red and yellow uniform. The country of origin for all four dolls will be China.

The applicable subheading for the four plastic female dolls will be 9502.10.0060 Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTS), which provides for Dolls representing only human beings and parts and accessories thereof: Dolls, whether or not dressedOther. The applicable rate of duty will be free.

This ruling is being issued under the provisions of Section 177 of the Customs Regulations (19 C.F.R. 177).

A copy of the ruling or the control number indicated above should be provided with the entry documents filed at the time the merchandise is imported.
