RE: The tariff classification of Men's Wool Underwear from Norway.

Dear Mr. Sederholm:

In your letter dated September 25, 1995, you requested a tariff classification ruling. As requested, the samples will be returned to you.

You have submitted three samples. Style 1410, is a man's loosely knit 100% wool undershirt. The garment features long sleeves with ribknit cuffs, a rib-knit crew neck and a ribknit capped bottom.

Style 1411, is a man's loosely knit 100% wool undershirt. The garment features short sleeves with ribknit capping, a rib-knit round neck and a ribknit capped bottom.

Style 1414, is a man's loosely knit 100% wool athletic undershirt. The garment is sleeveless with ribknit capping around the armholes, a rib-knit capped round neck and a ribknit capped bottom.

The applicable subheading for style 1410 will be 6109.90.1510, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTS), which provides for T-shirts, singlets, tank tops and similar garments, knitted or crocheted: of wool, with long sleeves, men's or boys': underwear. The rate of duty will be 6 percent ad valorem.

The applicable subheading for styles 1411 and 1414 will be 6109.90.8010, HTS, which provides for T-shirts, singlets, tank tops and similar garments, knitted or crocheted: of other textile materials: other: other, men's or boys'. The rate of duty will be 16.9 percent ad valorem.

This ruling is being issued under the provisions of Section 177 of the Customs Regulations (19 C.F.R. 177).
