RE: The tariff classification of 3,3-Dimethylacrylic Acid from Germany, Ethyl-4-Ethoxy Benzoate from France and Glycine Methyl Ester from Belguim

Dear Ms. Von Doehren:

In your letter dated May 11, 1993, you requested a tariff classification ruling on the following products.

ITEM HTS RATE OF
DUTY

3,3-Dimethylacrylic Acid 2916.19.3000 2.4 cents per kilogram
(CAS # 541-47-9) plus 5% ad valorem

Ethyl-4-Ethoxybenzoate 2918.90.4000 13.5% ad valorem

Glycine Methyl Ester HCL 2922.49.5000 3.7% ad valorem

This ruling is being issued under the provisions of Section 177 of the Customs Regulations (19 C.F.R. 177).

A copy of this ruling letter should be attached to the entry documents filed at the time this merchandise is imported. If the documents have already been filed, this ruling should be brought to the attention of the Customs officer handling the transaction.
