I agree completely with Kent's opinion that using a munged email address
is no solution; doing that makes the net less useful in a very real way.

However, that doesn't mean I agree that just ignoring spam is the right
response. I make a point of complaining to the spammer's postmaster.
Lately I cc it to the next upstream ISP, too, if it seems to have
originated from a small site. This costs me two or three minutes worth
of investigation per spam, but that's nothing compared to the amount of
time I'll spend "hitting the delete key" if spam is allowed to become
an accepted practice on the net. We have to fight back.

BTW, I have noticed that the amount of spam I get has tailed off over
the past few months. From what I hear, most other people are getting
more and more. Perhaps I am getting on some lists of people never to
spam ;-)
