So do I (soc.culture.nordic). My FAQ is altogether over 10,000 lines long,
it's intended for the net.community -- not for static medias (cd-rom, books,
etc) -- and I don't want to see some cheap excuse of an author make profit
out of my voluntary work. I even have a short section on the basics of
copyright laws & Usenet included for the newbies of the group.

It's not *required*, but a copyright notice does strenghten the protection,
so it's best to include it anyway. Check Terry Carroll's Copyright FAQ,
