RE: The tariff classification of a Golden Pot from India.

Dear Mr. Shukla:

In your letter dated June 18, 2007 you requested a tariff classification ruling.

You have submitted a sample of the Golden Pot which will be returned as requested. The pot is made of metal and covered with a cloth on which golden spangles and beads are sewn. A matching ceiling holder is included. The spangles and beads completely cover both the pot and ceiling holder.

The applicable subheading for the Golden Pot will be 8308.90.3000, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for “Beads and spangles of base metal”. The rate of duty will be free.

Duty rates are provided for your convenience and are subject to change. The text of the most recent HTSUS and the accompanying duty rates are provided on World Wide Web at http://www.usitc.gov/tata/hts/.

This ruling is being issued under the provisions of Part 177 of the Customs Regulations (19 C.F.R. 177).
