RE: The tariff classification of Mix and Match Storage Cubes from China.

Dear Ms. Bennett:

In your letter dated March 8, 2008, you requested a tariff classification ruling.

The merchandise under consideration is identified as Mix and Match Storage Cubes, 00537. The cubes are stacking modular units designed to be used to build any number of configurations of floor standing craft storage units. They are made of 70% medium density fiberboard (MDF), 5% metal and 25% paper and measure 14.25” W x 14.25” H x 14.25” D. You have submitted photographs of the items with your request.

The applicable subheading for the Mix and Match Storage Cubes will be 9403.60.8080, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for “Other furniture and parts thereof: Other wooden furniture: Other, Other.” The rate of duty will be Free.

This ruling is being issued under the provisions of Part 177 of the Customs Regulations (19 C.F.R. 177).
