RE: The tariff classification of a women’s reversible jacket from China

Dear Ms. Morelli:

In your letter dated July 6, 2006, you requested a classification ruling. A sample was submitted and is being returned as you requested.

The item in question, style SKU 1W032706, is a women’s reversible outerwear garment with a full front opening secured by a zipper with a reversible pull. One side is made from a 100% wool jersey knit fabric with a sweater-like appearance and has pockets at the waist. The second side is made from a 100% nylon woven fabric diamond-quilted to a light nonwoven batting. The jacket has rib knit cuffs, collar and waistband dyed to coordinate with each side of the garment.

The applicable subheading for style 1W032706 will be 6202.93.5011, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for other women’s anoraks (including ski-jackets), windbreakers and similar articles, of man-made fibers. The duty rate will be 27.7 percent ad valorem.

Duty rates are provided for your convenience and are subject to change. The text of the most recent HTSUS and the accompanying duty rates are provided on World Wide Web at http://www.usitc.gov/tata/hts/.
