RE: The tariff classification of a pullover for ladies’ wear from Macau

Dear Ms. Rangel:

In your letter dated June 12, 2006 you requested a classification ruling.

Submitted style KK5291013K, manufactured from knitted fabric of 70% cotton/30% cashmere, is a loosely fitted, pullover garment, characterized by short sleeves and by a turtle neck. All of the components of this garment are knit to shape and assembled by linking and looping.

As you have requested, the sample garment and its accompanying component parts are being returned.

The applicable subheading for this style will be 6110.20.2077, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for sweaters, pulloversand similar articles, knitted, of cotton, other, other, other, women’s, knit to shape articles described in statistical note 6 to this chapter. The duty rate will be 16.5 per cent ad valorem.
