RE: The tariff classification of women’s pants from Sri Lanka.

Dear Ms. Rizzo:

In your letter dated June 6, 2006, you requested a classification ruling for women’s woven pants. The submitted sample will be returned to you, as requested.

Style 22502 is a pair of women’s pants constructed from 85 percent polyester, 15 percent spandex woven fabric. The pants have an elasticized waistband with an inside draw cord and two front pockets. The bottom of the pant legs are hemmed and finished with a wrap like feature approximately five inches from the bottom, and ties.

The applicable subheading for style 22502 will be 6204.63.3510, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for Women’strousers: Of synthetic fibers. The duty rate will be 28.6% ad valorem. Duty rates are provided for your convenience and are subject to change. Style 22502 falls within textile category designation 648. Quota and visa status are the result of international agreements that are subject to frequent renegotiations and changes.
