RE: The tariff classification of socks from China.

Dear Ms. Stubblefield:

In your letter dated June 5, 2006, you requested a classification ruling. The sample will be returned to you as requested.

The submitted sample, “Wicking Anklet Socks”, style 6065 is made of knit 70% polyester/15% nylon/10% spandex/5% elastic. The socks will be imported in styles 6066, size 9-11 and 6067, size 7-9.

The applicable subheading for the “Wicking Anklet Socks”, style 6065, 6066 and 6067 will be 6115.93.9020, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for “Panty hose, tights, stockings, socks and other hosieryknitted or crocheted: Other: Of synthetic fibers: Other: Other, Other. The rate of duty will be 14.6% ad valorem. The textile category designation is 632.
