RE: The tariff classification of a cardigan for girls’ wear from China

Dear Mr. Armani:

In your letter dated May 25, 2006 you requested a classification ruling.

Submitted style HH4693, manufactured from knitted fabric of 100% acrylic, is a long-sleeved, round-necked, button-front garment.

As you have requested, the sample garment and its accompanying component parts are being returned.

Because there are no clear and continuous lines of demarcation on this garment, the applicable subheading for it will be 6110.30.3059, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for sweatersand similar garments, knitted, of man-made fibers, other, other, other, other, other, girls’, other. The duty rate will be 32 per cent ad valorem.
