RE: The tariff classification of a pullover for girls’ wear from China

Dear Mr. Armani:

In your letter dated March 29, 2006 you requested a classification ruling.

Submitted style TEO141, manufactured from jersey fabric of 100% cotton, is a narrowly fitted garment, the rib-knitted portions of which consist of the waistband, the edges of the capped sleeves, the low-cut, v-neck, and the sides. A belt loop is located at each side of the lower front.

The submitted sample and its component parts are being retained by this office for reference purposes.

The applicable subheading for this garment will be 6110.20.2077, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for sweaters, pulloversand similar articles, knitted, of cotton, other, other, other, girls’, knit to shape articles described in statistical note 6 to this chapter. The duty rate will be 16.5 percent ad valorem.
