RE: The tariff classification of a knit-to-shape sweater for girls’ wear from China

Dear Ms. Desjardins:

In your letter dated March 9, 2006, written on behalf of Oshkosh B’Gosh Inc., you requested a classification ruling.

Submitted style X6325B, manufactured from rib-knitted fabric of 100% cotton, is a long-sleeved, raglan-styled, turtle-neck pullover, each component of which has been knitted to shape, linked, and looped.

The submitted sample is being retained by this office for reference purposes.

The applicable subheading for this style will be 6110.20.2077, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for sweaters, pulloversand similar articles, knitted, of cotton, other, other, other,girls’, knit to shape articles described in statistical note 6 to this chapter. The duty rate will be 16.5 percent ad valorem.
