RE: The tariff classification of knit shawl from China.

Dear Ms. Bauman:

In your letter dated January 12, 2006, on behalf of Dr. Leonards Healthcare Corporation, you requested a tariff classification ruling. As requested, the sample will be returned to you.

Your submitted sample, style 44024 is a knit polyester fleece shawl. The shawl measures approximately 52 inches in length and 22 inches wide. The bottom of the shawl has pockets.

The applicable subheading for style 44024 will be 6117.10.2030, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTS), which provides for other made up clothing or accessories, knitted or crocheted; knitted or crocheted parts of garments or clothing accessories: shawls, scarves, mufflers, mantillas, veils and the like: of man-made fibers, other. The rate of duty will be 11.3 percent ad valorem.
