RE: The tariff classification of gloves from Honduras.

Dear Mr. Brown:

In your letter dated August 12, 2005, you requested a tariff classification ruling.

Six gloves were submitted for review. Style B03SBL is a clute cut work glove made of a woven cotton fabric. The glove has two layers of inner lining on the palmside, the complete thumb, and complete forefinger. The glove features a backside knuckle overlay and an open woven fabric cuff.

Style U83C-6 is a clute cut work glove made of a woven cotton fabric with a ribbed knit cuff measuring approximately 4-3/4 inches in length.

Styles UDF22G-P and UDFG-P are lined clute cut work gloves made of a woven cotton fabric with a second layer of inner lining on the palmside, the complete thumb, and complete forefinger. The gloves feature backside knuckle overlays and woven fabric open cuffs measuring approximately 4 inches in length. Style UDFBT-P is a shorter cuff version of styles UDF22G-P and UDFG-P.

Style UDF203-7P is a lined clute cut work gloves made of a woven cotton fabric with a second layer of inner lining on the palmside, the complete thumb, and complete forefinger. The glove features a backside knuckle overlay and a ribbed knit cuff measuring approximately 4-3/4 inches in length.

The applicable subheading for all styles will be 6216.00.3800, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTS), which provides for Gloves, mittens and mitts: Other: Of cotton: Other: Without fourchettes. The duty rate will be 23.5 percent ad valorem.

This ruling is being issued under the provisions of Part 177 of the Customs Regulations (19 C.F.R. 177).
