RE: The tariff classification of insulated cable from China

Dear Mr. Green:

In your letter dated June 15, 2005, you requested a tariff classification ruling.

The items concerned are PVC-insulated copper and steel cables designed for various uses.

The applicable subheading for the 24 AWG/4 Pair CMR Riser Category 5e Data Cable and 22 AWG/2 Pair Riser Category 3 Data Cable will be 8544.59.2040, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTS), which provides for Insulated ... cable ... , whether or not fitted with connectors ... : Other electric conductors, for a voltage exceeding 80 V but not exceeding 1,000 V: Other: Of copper: For a voltage exceeding 800 V. The rate of duty will be 5.3%.

The applicable subheading for the 18/2 Solid FPLR/CMG FT4 (Fire 182) Cable and 18/4 Solid FPLR/CMG FT4 (Fire 184) Cable will be 8544.59.2080, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTS), which provides for Insulated ... cable ... , whether or not fitted with connectors ... : Other electric conductors, for a voltage exceeding 80 V but not exceeding 1,000 V: Other: Of copper: Other. The rate of duty will be 5.3%.

The applicable subheading for the RG-6/U Coaxial Cable w/40% AL Braid will be 8544.20.0000, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTS), which provides for Insulated ... cable (including coaxial cable) ... ,whether or not fitted with connectors ... : Coaxial cable ... . The rate of duty will be 5.3%.

You have asked whether this product is subject to antidumping duties or countervailing duties.
