RE: The tariff classification of sulfuryl fluoride (CAS# 2699-79-8) from China

Dear Ms. Prins:

In your letter dated January 28, 2000, you requested a tariff classification ruling.

The applicable subheading for sulfuryl fluoride will be 2812.90.0000, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States, which provides for Halides and halide oxides of nonmetals: Other. The rate of duty will be 3.7 percent ad valorem.

This ruling is being issued under the provisions of Part 177 of the Customs Regulations (19 C.F.R. 177).
