RE: The tariff classification of girls' apparel from the Philippines.

Dear Mr. Saul:

This classification decision under the Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTS) is being issued in accordance with the provisions of Section 177 of the Customs Regulations (19 C.F.R. 177).

DESCRIPTION OF
MERCHANDISE : The submitted samples, styles 7620, 7621 and 7622, are girls', 65 percent polyester, 35 percent cotton, woven two-piece sets. Each set consists of a pinafore and a pair of shorts. The pinafores, styles 7620 and 7621, have a rear button opening, open sides, fabric tie closures at the sides, appliques, and ruffles. The pinafore, style 7622, has a rear button opening, open sides, fabric tie closures at the sides, a woven collar, a bow, appliques, embroidery, and capping. The shorts, styles 7620, 7621 and 7622, have an elasticized waistband and leg openings. Styles 7620, 7621 and 7622 will be imported in toddler girls' sizes 2T to 4T.

Since part categories are the result of international bilateral agreements which are subject to frequent renegotiations and changes, to obtain the most current information avail- able, we suggest that you check, close to the time of shipment, the Status Report On Current Import Quotas (Restraint Levels), an internal issuance of the U.S. Customs Service, which is available for inspection at your local Customs office.

OTHER : The samples will be returned.

A copy of this ruling letter should be attached to the entry documents filed at the time this merchandise is imported. If the documents have been filed without a copy, this ruling should be brought to the attention of the Customs officer handling the transaction.
