This ruling is being issued under the provisions of Part 177 of the Customs Regulations (19 C.F.R. 177).

Since you specifically asked about the present status of goods imported from Serbia, this office contacted the International Agreements Section, U.S. Customs Service, Headquarters, Washington, D.C. They verified that the country presently known as Yugoslavia (Serbia and Montenegro) is subject to Column 2 duty rates. See HTS General Note 3(b), Footnote 1. The other states of the former Yugoslavia (Bosnia, Croatia, Macedonia, Slovenia) are subject to Column 1 rates.

A copy of the ruling or the control number indicated above should be provided with the entry documents filed at the time this merchandise is imported. If you have any questions regarding the ruling, contact National Import Specialist Paula Ilardi at 212-466-5476.

Sincerely,

Robert B. Swierupski
