RE: Amendment to NY Ruling A85504 dated August 1, 1996.

Dear Ms. Rucker:

In your letter dated August 16, 1996, you requested an amendment of classification ruling NY A85504, which was issued to you on August 1, 1996 from this office. You have brought to our attention an error in the HTS classification which should be corrected.

The original ruling NY A85504 inadvertently reflected an incorrect HTS classification number. Item 91023, a 21" pullman type pilot case of man-made fibers, was incorrectly classified under HTSUSA 4202.12.8030, which provides for: attache cases, briefcases, school satchels, occupational luggage cases and similar containers, with outer surface of textile materials, other, of man-made fibers. The correct HTS provision for item 91023, the pullman type pilot case should read 4202.12.8070, which provides for: trunks, suitcases, vanity cases and similar containers, with outer surface of textile materials, other, other, of man-made fibers. All other information remains the same.

We are sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused.

A copy of this supplement and the original ruling letter should be attached to the entry documents filed at the time this merchandise is imported. If the documents have been filed without a copy, this ruling should brought to the attention of the Customs officer handling the transaction.

If you have any questions regarding the ruling, contact National Import Specialist Kevin Gorman at 212-466-5893.

Sincerely,

Roger J. Silvestri
