RE: The tariff classification of three ceramic bells from China

Dear Ms. Smith:

In your letter dated June 7, 1996 you requested a tariff classification ruling.

The submitted sample, identified as stock number 97304, is a three piece assortment of ceramic angel bells. The bells are said to be made of porcelain. Each angel is playing a different instrument. Your samples are being returned as requested.

The applicable subheading for the bells will be 6913.10.5000, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States, which provides for statuettes and other ornamental ceramic articles, of porcelain or china, other, other. The rate of duty will be free.

This ruling is being issued under the provisions of Part 177 of the Customs Regulations.

A copy of the ruling or the control number indicated above should be provided with the entry documents filed at the time this merchandise is imported.
