RE: The tariff classification of a flat sheet from Indonesia.

Dear Mr. Smithweiss:

In your letter dated December 7, 1995, on behalf of Lewis International Corp., you requested a tariff classification ruling.

The sample submitted is a flat sheet made of woven polypropylene strips less than 5 millimeter in width and measures approximately 53" x 42". It is not coated with plastic or waterproofed. The sheet is hemmed on all four sides. It is used for carrying leaves and other yard waste. The sample is being returned as requested.

The applicable subheading for the flat sheet will be 6307.90.9989, HTS, which provides for other made up articles...Other: Other, other. The duty rate will be 7 percent ad valorem.

Articles classifiable under subheading 6307.90.9989, HTS, which are products of Indonesia are entitled to duty free treatment under the Generalized System of Preferences (GSP) upon compliance with all applicable regulations.

This ruling is being issued under the provisions of Section 177 of the Customs Regulations (19 C.F.R. 177). A copy of the ruling or the control number indicated above should be provided with the entry documents filed at the time this merchandise is imported.
