RE: The tariff classification of a textile tie case from Korea.

Dear Ms. Webster:

This classification decision under the Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTS) is being issued in accordance with the provisions of Section 177 of the Customs Regulations (19 C.F.R. 177).

DATE OF INQUIRY : July 10, 1991

DESCRIPTION OF
MERCHANDISE : The submitted sample, style 40F91-3C, is a tie case. The tie case is 100 percent polyester and it has a polyvinyl chloride back. The item measures 16 inches by 6 inches by 1
1/4 inches. A zipper extends along 3 sides of the case. The interior contains a metal bar with a tab and an elasticized strap with a snap to hold ties in place.

HTS PROVISION : Travel, sports and similar bags, with outer surface of textile materials, other, other, of man-made fibers, other.

HTS SUBHEADING : 4202.92.3030

RATE OF DUTY : 20 percent ad valorem

TEXTILE CATEGORY : 670
