RE: Supplement to Ruling No. DD 854676 on the tariff classification of a 100% cotton hammock.

Dear Mr. Blackmon:

This is a supplement to the Customs Ruling # DD 854676 dated

August 15, 1990, issued in response to your request dated July 21, 1990.

The ruling described the item as a 100% cotton knitted hammock with a crocheted border. However, the construction is not considered a knit fabric. It is made by twisting and intertwining cotton cords. The cords form an unstable open mesh that slip around easily. The cords are not anchored.

This supplement should be presented whenever ruling # DD 854672 is presented.
