Whirlpool RF367LXSS Electric Range

Rating: 4 out of 5
  • Currently 4.0/5.0

The 2007 Whirlpool RF367LXSS Electric Range is a very basic range. It includes the most basic features: bake, broil, clock, kitchen timer, oven light, two sizes of radiant elements (6-inch and 9-inch), and five oven rack adjustments. I am not a chef, so I found I did not need additional features in my range. I have been very happy with the quality of my basic range.

Even though this range does not boast many features, the quality of construction has proven excellent. The cooktop, the oven racks, the door hinges, and the storage drawer were all constructed of quality materials that have not scratched, warped, rusted, or broken over a three-year period. Every element of the range was constructed with excellent materials.

The cooktop has stood up to a lot of use and abuse. I am not a clean cook, so the cooktop has experienced many drips and spills of multiple foods, including cheeses and eggs. Even though I have spilled multiple, hard-to-clean ingredients on the cooktop, inadvertently cooking ingredients onto the burners, a cleaner made for radiant element, ceramic ranges easily cleaned the surface, including caked-on dirt, without scratching. I have even used clean, wet washcloths not made for cooktops to clean spills, and I do not have any scratches on my cooktop.

Other designs and/or materials which prove the 2007 Whirlpool RF367LXSS Electric Range to be a quality range are the design and build of the storage drawer, the quality construction of the entire base, and the quality door hinges. The storage drawer sill moves easily on its track, and the drawer is very sturdy. The entire base is reinforced, and the steel used is a good quality. The door hinges have stood up to average three-year use with no sign of rust. There is nothing flimsy about the construction or materials.

The only design feature I would consider upgrading to would be a convection cooktop so the top would be cool to the touch for little fingers, however, that feature was unavailable during the time I purchased this range. Overall, the design and quality of this basic range are outstanding.
