Probably the best way to help you get into shape is by using a Timex Digital Heart Rate Monitor. When taking up jogging or running, to make sure that your heart gets the maximum benefit from the exercise, a heart rate monitor is an indispensable piece of equipment. Previously, exercise was more of a hit-or-miss activity where the individual has to just guess as to what their heart rate was, but those days are now long past as technology has caught up with fitness.

The Timex T5H881 Zone Trainer will provide all the information needed to make sure the daily run is achieving the goal set. This trainer includes a chest band monitor for measuring heart rate and a Timex Digital Watch so that keeping track of heart beat needs but a glance at the wrist. This model is designed to be used by either men or women. The chest band monitor can be a bit uncomfortable if not worn properly, but generally an adjustment will take care of this problem.

The Timex Digital Watch lets the athlete easily check on their heart rate, and included a Night Mode feature to enable anyone to exercise at night without problem. The light will stay on for 3 seconds when any button on the watch is pressed, a real convenience when locating a particular button in the dark might be difficult.

In order to enable the runner to get the most out of their exercise, the Timex T5H881 enables predetermined heart rates to be set, as well as the time to be spent in this targeted zone. An alarm will notify the runner when the specific goals are reached. As this rate monitor is used not only for measuring heart rate, but also as a means of achieving or maintaining a certain weight goal, a calorie counter will also inform the user how many calories have been burned on the run or other exercise. This heart rate monitor is also great for use when swimming is the exercise being used, as it is waterproof to a depth of 165 feet. It is not advisable to use this monitor if diving - its use should be limited to swimming only.

As zone training is often employed by the serious runner or swimmer, the Timex Digital Heart Rate Monitor will keep track of how long the user has remained in the desired zone. It will accumulate points for time spent there and give the user a weekly score of how long was spent in the desired zone.

The instructions included with the Timex T5H881 are east to understand and will make setting the monitor a simple matter. The instruction book not only provides a guide on how to set the monitor, but also instructions on how to advance the level of fitness through the use of the 4 heart rate zones. Upon deciding which zone to begin with, and setting the watch, the alarm will sound if the user has fallen below the target or gone above it.

Adding the Timex T5H881 Zone Trainer Digital Heart Rate Monitor to the exercise regimen will enable the user to achieve fitness and weight goals easily. This Timex heart rate monitor sells for less than $65.00, on average, and provides many more features than could be comfortably handled in this article.
