The Rival 7 Quart Slow Cooker Model# MD-TH7000R

Rating: 5 out of 5
  • Currently 5.0/5.0

Just a couple of weeks ago my slow cooker decided it didn't want to work any longer. I went to my local Wal-Mart in search of a bigger slow cooker than I started out using. Although they had a rather large variety of slow cookers, I chose the Rival 7 quart slow cooker. What first drew me to that particular product was the size, 7 quarts is large and I know it will be used several times each week. I love cooking one dish meals that I can put into the slow cooker, and it is convenient to throw the food in and allow it to cook through the day while I am working.

This slow cooker happens to be a beautiful red color, and I'm considering using red as a kitchen accent color so it will fit in with my décor. I like the fact that it is an oval shape rather than round. The housing is made using stainless steel, for me that means it is durable and will last for many years. I am a frugal shopper and look for products that will last for several years with proper care. I paid less than forty dollars, and it was on sale.

The Rival slow cooker has three settings and they are high, low and warm. Most of the time I start with the high setting, according to the recipe then turn it down to low. After it has cooked through I turn it to the warm setting. I know the food will be warm when my family decides to sit down and eat dinner.

The ceramic pot comes out for easy cleaning, and it can be washed in your dishwasher. I can easily clean the housing using a damp sponge, and for tough stains I spray the sponge with vinegar and wipe the stain, it comes right off.

I am very happy with my purchase and have used it every day since I bought it. I would buy this product again.
