The Oster Blender Core Blender is a 12 speed blender that is great for crushing ice and making smoothies. This blender features a 450 watt motor that enables it to easily deal with heavy products and ice. It also features an all metal drive system to prevent wear and tear damage to the mixer. The 5 quart scratch resistant glass cup is dish washer safe and easy to remove and replace. There have been very few problems with this blender and has worked well in a consistent manner.
There is an optional travel cup with this blender. This cup allows the food to be prepared in the cup and blended directly into the cup. This cup is able to contain up to 20 ounces of fluids. It is also small enough to be able to fit into most cup holders. It is made from a scratch resistant glass and is dish washer safe. This cup features a black cap that features a small hole on the top of it for a controlled flow of fluids. This hole is closed by a hinged lid. There is a matching cusp that allows the blades of the blender to attach to the cup for easy preparation. This eliminates unnecessary dishes from the equation, allowing the kitchen to remain clean.
To use this cup, place the gasket and blade onto the mouth of the cup. Then screw on the attaching cusp to the cup. This will then slide onto the blender with relative ease. The cup will stay in place while the blender operates the blades and mixes the objects in the cup. Once finished, shut off the mixer and remove the cup. The cusp can then be unscrewed and the blade with gasket carefully removed. The cup lid can then be placed on the cup to allow for safe transport of the food.
Cleaning is easy with this blender. All pieces that need to be cleaned are removable. The blade is easily detached from the bottom of the glass cups. The blades are not fixed to the blender but rather are turned by a square peg attached to the blender's motor. The solid plastic cover of the blender makes it easy to spray the blender with disinfectant and provide for a sanitary food preparation machine. The cups and blades are machine washable and scratch resistant making them safer and easier to clean. The gasket should be cleaned by hand due to its small size and the risk of damaging it.
