Tecumseh 8' Smoky Oak Pool Table

Rating: 4 out of 5
  • Currently 4.0/5.0

The retail price on the 8' Tecumseh pool table is $3,499.00 and a 7' model costs a little less, but I prefer to play on a full size table. My wife liked it for the design. There are some other pieces to go with the table including high chairs, table, bar, and bar stools. We hope eventually to complete our set.

This table really captures a room with its solid oak old world look. The ball and claw legs match pretty well to some of the antique items already in our decor. We picked this one based on the stain color of the wood, preferring it to the darker colors of most of the other models we didn't choose.

Other tables I have owned had leg levers to adjust for unlevel floors. This one does not and I could see that being a problem in some homes. As heavy as this table is, it forms itself to the floor, and I don't have any problems with it rocking on the concrete floor where we put it.

If I had a choice again, I would have liked to have a crimson colored playing surface, but I'm not complaining. My father always told me to get a slate top when I bought a table, and I didn't with my last one. However, this one has a 1" slate underlayment, which makes a better table. It's not something you can easily explain, it's just better.

I haven't had any bad experiences with this table thus far. It hasn't made my game any better, but I enjoy the games more. I don't know that you could get a better pool table even if you paid a lot more money. If you have the space for a full size table, I highly recommend this Tecumseh billiard table. I rate it with a 4 out of 5 just because of the missing leg levelers.
