Suzuki Forenza

Rating: 3 out of 5
  • Currently 3.0/5.0

The Suzuki Forenza 2008 is the Suzuki version of the Daewoo Forenza/Lacetti. Chevy also sells this car as Chevy Cruze The car boasts a conservative design and a roomy interior with storage compartments and a roomy trunk. Gas mileage is average in city driving. The speaker system is phenomenal and the controls are clearly identifiable and easy to access. Acceleration is quick and braking responsive and accurate.

One of the upsides to this brand is the seven year transferable 100,000-mile drive-train warranty and the reputation that Suzuki has for taking care of the consumer. Although this car is in the affordable range, $13,000 for a base model, it does not have the cheap look and feel that cars sometimes have in that price range. And let's not forget that Suzuki has an ownership loyalty program that allows for discounts if you purchase another Suzuki. They also offer discounts to students with degrees and the military.

Some of the highpoints of this car are the roomy cabin and trunk and the audio system. Honestly, I've never had a powerful/multi-speaker system like this before. I also like the minimal time it takes to defrost my windows on a cold winter morning. The downside of this car is the gas mileage. The specs show 19 mpg in city driving and 28 on the highway. I spend a lot of time filling my car with gas. I've driven used cars most of my life, so I was pleased to finally have a car where I couldn't hear the engine or feel every bump in the road.

I've read other reviews on this car and I don't totally agree. This car is more than adequate for my needs. I bought this car because I needed a car quick, so I didn't pay too much attention to gas mileage or safety reports. I can't say that I would recommend it due to the gas mileage, but I don't regret my purchase.
