Rockwell RK7240.1 13 Amp 10 Inch Table Saw

Rating: 2 out of 5
  • Currently 2.0/5.0

I purchased the Rockwell 10 inch table saw because it was inexpensive, but wish that I had paid a little more for something higher quality. This saw is a disappointment and has several major issues.

My first problem with the saw is the poor overall quality. The accessories, knobs and gauges are all made of low quality plastic. Every time I turn a knob or make an adjustment, I think that something is going to fall off. It was also difficult to put together and some of the pieces don't fit together as well as I would have hoped.

One of the biggest problems with the saw is that the miter gauge isn't very accurate. I have trouble getting the saw to cur particular angles. I have had knobs and handles fall off and the blade hasn't been stable from the moment the saw was put together.

Another problem with this saw is that saw dust gets everywhere. When using the saw it is common to have saw dust fly up over the guards and all around the workspace. It makes cleanup a lot more difficult.

There are a few advantages to this product. I like that this saw is very portable and that it doesn't take up a lot of space. It is easy to lift and transport. Since I don't use it that often I like that it stores easily and that it has its own stand so it isn't taking up precious work table space.

It has plenty of power and the blade that was included is surprisingly sharp. I have never had any trouble getting it to cut through various pieces of wood. It is fairly quiet for a saw and I haven't had any mechanical problems.

I wouldn't buy this saw again and wish that I had purchased a more expensive model. However, for the price it is a decent value.
