Ranch King 8hp 26" 2-stage snowblower with 12" propeller

Rating: 5 out of 5
  • Currently 5.0/5.0

Our winters provide lots of use for this piece of equipment. Sometimes our snow is light and fluffy but at other times it is the heavy wet stuff. The heavy wet snow can slow this blower down quite a bit but it still manages to keep moving. I'm very glad I went with the 26" width. I certainly wouldn't want to have anything smaller for our long driveway when I'm using a walk behind snow blower.

The snow blower starts easily with its electric start button. As a woman, I consider this feature to be a necessity. In spite of that, I've found that the pull start is quite manageable for me as well. It is good to have both options.

The throw shoot does a great job of projecting the snow up and out so that I don't have to worry about it landing back in the driveway when I get out to the middle of the drive. It throws it far enough that it also doesn't create a huge high bank at the edge of the driveway either. It spreads the snow out a bit into the yard. The shoot is also set up to easily move it for throwing the snow out the opposite direction at any point.

So far there have been no major repairs needed for the snow blower, just routine care and maintenance.

Because of its size it does take up quite a bit of my garage space but it is also fairly easy to move around if I need to get at something or rearrange things.

I had done some shopping around before buying this model and it seems to be quite comparable with other models with similar size and features. Overall I have been quite satisfied with the purchase.
