Porter Cable 7 1/4" circular Saw 13-Amp

Rating: 5 out of 5
  • Currently 5.0/5.0

After I compared several similar circular saws, I finally decided to purchase this one. The brand name is well known and it will be used by my husband who is in the construction industry. One of the factors for choosing this one over the others was the fact that it has a laser guide. This enables the user to make an accurate long cut, this comes in handy if they are working on a piece of plywood for example. It has 5000 revolutions per minute and is equipped for making beveled edges up to 45 degrees. The blade diameter is 7 ¼ inches, the cutting depth is 1.8 inches. The handle has been safely place on the top of this saw.

Since my husband is a carpenter and works with his hands all day, the Porter Cable saw has helped him get his work done with more accuracy and faster too. The saw comes with a small wrench so that you can remove the nut to take the blade off and replace it, the nut goes back on and you tighten it. That whole process takes less than 30 seconds. There is no blade lock on this particular machine. You may use any brand blade as long as it is 7 ¼ inches in diameter, it will state the size right on the blade.

My husband has been using this saw every day at work since I bought it for him. So far he has used it to make wooden sheeting on a condominium. He built a small privacy fencing that had to be customized and cut to certain specifications. He has also used this saw at home as we are remodeling the sunroom in our home. My husband said that this circular saw works well for the professional and would be a good investment for a homeowner who does the occasional project around their home.
