PORTER CABLE 6-Gallon Portable Electric Air Compressor

Rating: 4 out of 5
  • Currently 4.0/5.0

I have been using the Porter Cable 6-gallon Air Compressor for a few years. Before I had this newer model I had another Porter Cable unit, and I also loved that one. This is a work horse that doesn't quit. So Far it has lived up to every job I had for it.

A great feature with this model is the 2 air couplers. It is designed for 2 tools or 2 users at the same time. Great feature! Max working pressure is 150 psi. Which should be enough for most home improvement and do it yourself projects.

The pancake-style tank is very stable and easy to move to your work site. The built in handle, on top of the unit makes it much easier to move. My older unit had the handle in the side, where it was more difficult to carry. The air compressor is not light, so the new handle location is a major improvement.

I prefer the oil free pump compressors, which this Porter Cable unit is. They are easier to maintain. Requiring less effort to keep the unit functioning properly. I also like that it is one less item I need to bring with me.

If I recall correctly, this air compressor came with a set of accessories. Which is great because I have yet needed to buy any other parts for it (except for the nailers themselves, they are not included).

I am still waiting for someone to design an air compressor that is not as loud as all of the current models available. This unit is no different. It will surely wake the baby, or neighbors, or anyone else in the area. I recommend a long air hose and keep this (or any air compressor outside or in another room), either that or bring your ear plugs.

Overall this is a great unit that will not let you down.
