Mitsubishi WD82837 HD 3D TV

Rating: 5 out of 5
  • Currently 5.0/5.0

The Mitsubishi 82 inch high definition TV costs $4999.99 and offers you everything you could want from a television. For such a high price, you want to get a TV that won't be beaten by newer technology within a couple of years, but with their 837 series Mitsubishi have tried to offer compatibility with everything
The high definition screen is 1080p, which is great for a home theatre experience. For media content that isn't high definition, the TV has a converter to make the low resolution less noticeable, but with a screen this size it's impossible to sit too close if you're watching standard TV content. With high definition video the 82 inch screen can transfer any room into your own private theatre, which works even better as the TV has a rear projector and digital light processing.
The Mitsubishi is 3D ready, which is why I was interested in buying it even thought there is very little 3D content available. If 3D becomes as popular as high definition, it's worthwhile to buy a television that can cope with it, and it's very immersive to watch 3D content on an 82 inch screen. By using six colors instead of the three RGB, the picture quality is amazing.
The WD-82837 can accept USB input and has an inbuilt HDTV receiver. The four HDMI slots and three component video inputs make it possible to hook DVD, BluRay or even VCRs up to the TV. The Mitsubishi 82 inch 837 series is the TV that is compatible with almost anything you need it to be, and is both HD and 3D ready while providing you with one of the largest sizes of TV screen available without custom building. If you shop around you can buy it for three fifths of the recommended price.
