There is no doubt the single-cup coffee maker has many positive aspects. By allowing one to brew an individual cup of coffee, there is less coffee waste than with traditional 8, 10, or 12 cup coffee makers. Brewing time is fast. Water temperature is adjustable, and there are many coffee brands and flavors available in the K-Cups.
There are; however, a few negative components to the single cup coffee maker. First, the needed K-Cups house already ground coffee, which eliminates the ability to adjust the richness or boldness of the desired coffee. Secondly, the plastic packaging of the individual K-Cups is very wasteful. Lastly, this coffee maker is extremely difficult to clean.
The Platinum Brewing Series is priced around $169.00 and comes with a starter supply of K-Cups. K-Cups can be purchased in varying units and price points.
