The Kenmore Freestanding Gas Range is generally a good oven and range combination. It is attractive and offers many useful features. I especially appreciate the convection feature, which I did not have in my previous stove.
One of my favorite features on this range is how quickly the oven heats. I can turn it on and it will be preheated to the proper temperature in 10 minutes or less. The temperature controls seems pretty reliable and I have never had trouble with things being over or under cooked. Plus it cooks food very evenly. When the convection feature is engaged cooking times are almost cut in half which makes baking much easier and convenient when I get home from work.
It is easy to clean and wipes off easily, especially if it is wiped down after every use. The knobs are supposedly removable, but I always feel like they are going to break when taking them off, so I generally leave them on. The knobs are made from a thin, flimsy plastic and I wish they were higher quality, since removable knobs could be very convenient.
The range is easy to use and the gas flame always lights quickly and easily. The knobs are very responsive which makes getting the perfect amount of heat possible.
Set up is complicated and I am grateful that we had the range installed. It took the installer almost an hour to get it in and I am sure that it would have taken me much longer.
This range is a good value for the price and offers many advanced features that you only see on more expensive models. It has a regular oven, convection oven, broiler, warming drawer and a self cleaning option. Since it has a 5 cu. ft. capacity, I never have trouble fitting everything in, even when cooking large meals.
