They say "rock and roll" comes from the soul. Any band member will tell you that, (well at least 40 years ago anyway, excuse the pun). You will need an instrument that sounds, plays, and works well. The Gibson SG Standard Electric Guitar - may in fact make "Johnny Play Good."

Or at least in time anyway. The guitar has features like, double-cutaway beveled mahogany body. Set mahogany with rounded 50's profile.

Bound rosewood fingerboard with trapezoid inlays. Tune-O-Matic bridge with stopbar tailpiece. Chrome hardware. 2 volume knobs, 2 tone knobs; 3-way switch. Including the Gibson hardshell case. The guitar weighs at 22 pounds. The cost of the guitar is $2,517.

You're getting what you pay for. Electric guitars have motivated the music industry for years. You're generally not gonna find a real cheap electric guitar. The cheapest I've seen one was $250, it had no name nor instruction manual.

If you're gonna play for a rock band pro or otherwise, you should always get the best. Why the best? Did you know that professionals always use top-rated instruments? It's true.

Using top quality instruments ensure a top quality grade. If you can't afford top of the line instruments, save a little money, get serious.

You may want to play for hours on in, would an electric guitar string brake? The answer, yes they can. But rest assure that wouldn't really happen if you just spent a couple more hundred dollars.

This Gibson is one of the most popular and best-selling of all. No matter which one you want, remember what was said. And take everything into mind.

No one really knows how long guitars will be around, this little beauty will be around for a long time.

I'm surprised this has no posts on it. The gibson SG is a splendid guitar, easy to play, sounds great, easy action.

Wow! It's $2500 now? hmmm. when it started to be made years ago, you could get it, and its case for only $275. Yeah, i'm dating myself here, but this was the cheap man's Les Paul.
Also, not as heavy as Les Paul, which is like holding onto a cement mixer, very heavy!
The newer ones are getting lighter though.
