Gelert Quick Pitch Two-Person Tent

Rating: 4 out of 5
  • Currently 4.0/5.0

For those who need to fulfill their camping needs on a budget, the Gelert Quick Pitch Elite Tent is a fantastic solution.

Perfect for beginning campers who don't want the hassle of deciphering complicated assembly instructions, the tent lives up to its name. Enclosed in a convenient carrying bag, the tent is styled with a pop-up design, allowing users to simply remove it from the bag, unfold it and secure it with stakes.

Another advantage is that the foundational components of the tent are contained at all times. Therefore, there is no need to wrestle with tent poles, since those which are required are permanently sewn into the borders of the tent itself. Also, it is extremely lightweight. I have taken the tent on transatlantic flights and appreciate its portability.

Made of strong, waterproof polyester, the material is tear-resistant and capable of withstanding even the harshest winds and lashing rainstorms. It is brightly colored, making it easier to find the tent in dark conditions or crowded areas, such as outdoor music festivals.

The zippered front opening is just large enough to allow a person to enter comfortably, but the act of placing a bulky rucksack or camping cot into the tent requires a considerable amount of planning since the roof of the tent is rather low. Therefore, the small size of this tent means that space is very limited. Although it is advertised as a two person tent, in reality it is best suited for one person accompanied by only a small amount of supplies. Also note that it is only a single skin tent, and therefore very susceptible to ground condensation.

Even for its faults, this tent is excellent for anyone who is looking for a basic tent that is both easy to pitch and transport.
