The dishwasher has a very sleek look to it which is accomplished by the control panel being located on the top of the door rather than on the front of the door. Having the controls located on the top of the door also hides them from view from small children who might be tempted to play with them. The controls are smooth surface finger press controls. There was one negative aspect of the position of the controls. The overhang of our countertop covers the controls when the door is shut which means you can't see things like the 'clean' indicator without pulling the door open to look.

The dishwasher has several settings and features to choose from. It has delayed start settings for 2, 4 or 8 hours, a feature we use often. It also has five different cycle selections: normal, cookware, anti-bacterial, china crystal and rinse only. Add heat and heated dry are also options on the control panel. The panel also has status lights that indicate either 'sanitized' or 'clean'.

It has the stainless steel interior tub and had the best sound reduction rating of the models we looked at. The interior bottom rack has a couple of fold down tines that is great for getting large kettles clean. The silverware basket mounts along the side of the bottom rack and can be lifted out for convenient unloading. The baskets also have slotted covers which allow you to place silverware in individual slots or to lift the covers and put them in by the handful. We use the individual slots because we found that some of our narrow silverware handles slip through the bottom holes in the basket when they're placed direct into the baskets.

The top rack has some issues. Cups or glasses placed in the corners of this rack often collect food particles during the wash cycle that remain dried into the cups at the end of the cycle. The rear half of the center portion of the rack has some very short tines that don't support much other than small plates.

The water is circulated through three separate spray arms: one on the bottom, one on the top and one underneath the top rack. This seems to cover everything pretty well except for those top corners, as I already mentioned.

The price of the unit was actually the highest price of the dishwashers we considered but it was the only reputable brand that had everything we were looking for.
