After a lot of shopping around for a replacement for a faltering fridge, I chose the GE 18.2 Cu. Ft. Top Freezer Refrigerator. This refrigerator is by no means top of the line, but it does have a lot of features that make it an ideal choice for those who don't have a lot of room or who simply don't need a refrigerator with a large capacity. I chose the model without the ice maker but it is available.

The refrigerator runs so quietly that you might think it isn't operating at all. However, it does an excellent job of cooling everything inside as well as what is in the doors and crispers. The doors are designed to hold a gallon container of milk and this has turned out to be a very convenient feature. Now, I don't have to move everything around on the top shelf every time I take out the milk. I was originally concerned that the extra room in the doors would mean less shelf space but the deep shelves provide a lot of room. There is also a shelf that is sized just for canned drinks at the bottom of the door to keep them neat and handy. It also works great for juice boxes for kids.

Another convenient feature of the refrigerator is the snack drawer. I just put lunchmeat and cheese in here and they stay fresh without getting strewn about. It also makes it easier to keep up with smaller packages that seem to disappear in other refrigerators. Shelves are made of glass and can easily be adjusted to suit your needs as can the snack drawer.

The refrigerator doesn't have an egg tray and I thought that might be a problem. However, there is plenty of room inside to keep eggs on the shelf in their original carton with no problems. There is a butter tray in the door that I don't need for butter any more since I use tubs but I find it is convenient for small things that might fall out of the door.

The GE refrigerator has a lot of great features and is less expensive than the same size refrigerator with similar features in other brands. It also is a 3 tier Energy Star rated appliance which means it saves a lot of energy over other refrigerators. Although this isn't a fancy refrigerator, it does have some features that are surprisingly convenient and it does a great job at what it is meant to do.
