GE DSXH47GWW Extra-Large Capacity Drier

Rating: 5 out of 5
  • Currently 5.0/5.0

My husband and I purchased this GE extra large capacity drier along with the GE King-size Capacity Frontload Washer. I chose this drier because it can accommodate larger loads, king-or queen size comforters.
This drier is painted and coated with a rust proof finish which can stand heavy use, and this seems to be true since. For almost a year I shared the washer/drier with our renter who has a family of four. I notice them washing and drying clothes almost every day because they have two kids. This drier is heavily used and I can tell that it's durable and until now tha paint is still intact, no chipping noticed.
My GE extra large capacity drier has four drying options I like this because I can choose the right temperature for my clothes based on the type of the fabric. This way I am able to properly care for my clothes. With this feature so far my clothes didn't come out smaller than the original size.
It has also four auto dry cycles to choose from regular, perma press, delicate, less dry and a timed dry which will run based on the time I selected. The good thing about this feature is I can match any type of fabric with the proper temperature and cycle to make sure that my clothes are properly dried and will not come out ruined.
I also like the de-wrinkle option which provides 15 minutes of tumble dry without heat, this feature saves me from ironing some of my clothes. The signal buzzer is a good combination for this feature because when the goes off it means the clothes are already dry. I remove my clothes immediately from the drier to make sure that my cloths will not come out wrinly. If don't remove the clothes immediately, even if I run the de-wrinkle option clothes will wrinkle.
I like the sensor dry feature because this gives me signal that my clothes are dry and ready to be removed. I don't have to wait until the cycle is finished. This feature helps me save energy consumption. Speaking of saving energy, my drier is energy star qualified and so far my utility bill is not too high.
The only thing I notice is the lint screen, it seems like it can capture all the lint from the clothes especially when I'm drying a heavy load. Whenever I open the drier, some lint comes out of the filter although I clean the screen every time I finish drying.
I am giving two thumbs up for my GE large capacity drier. It never gave me a problem, my clothes are properly dried with the right temperature and cycle, no shrinking experience, I can my king and queen size comforter with my drier and I don't need to go to a laundry mat anymore. It saves me time and most importantly it helped cut my utility bill.
Two more things, the door is reversible so you can install it the way you like it, either left or right side open. And the price ($600 +tax and shipping) is competitive compared with other driers besides GE is proven in manufacturing quality appliance.
