Frigidaire 70 Pint Dehumidifier

I bought this Frigidaire dehumidifier to put in my basement. My children hang out down there with their friends so with an assortment of allergies and asthma between all of them, I needed something to prevent mildew, mold and bacteria for the health of my children as well as their friends. I absolutely love this machine! The basement smells incredibly fresh and the first day I ran it I had to empty it twice so I know that it really works. Now I generally only have to empty the bucket once a day or so.

This dehumidifier has a 17 pint container and it will dehumidify up to 70 pints per day. It is white and weighs 44 pounds so it is really much lighter than it looks. The unit is incredibly easy to use and you can even program how much humidity you want left in the air. It has a timer, full bucket indicator and an automatic shut off so you don't have to panic if you accidentally forget to empty it and leave it running, you won't come home to water all over.

The dehumidifier has an Effortless TM Clean Filter that is anti-microbial to remove allergens and bacteria. It does need to be cleaned often but it is a lot better and more cost-effective than buying filters. I will suggest that you take the time to read the owner's manual and do a dry run of removing the bucket. It is easy to do once you actually know how to do it but don't make the mistake I did of trying to remove it for the first time when it is filled with water.

The unit is very energy efficient, especially on the low setting. It is louder than a fan on the higher setting but not overly obnoxious. I usually only run the higher setting when no one is down there. If you have humidity issues in your home you will definitely be pleased with his dehumidifier. For $231 you really can't beat it. It is a lot less expensive than some other units and definitely gets the job done.
