Being the owner of two Alaskan Malamute dogs and one Persian cat, I really have to have a heavy duty vacuum, especially when they blow their coats twice a year. I seem to be very hard on vacuum cleaners, either that or they just do not live up to my standards, so I go through them quickly. This is why, I was having a hard time coming to terms with shelling out $549 for the Dyson DC25 Vacuum Cleaner, but I'm sure glad I did!

This vacuum cleans carpets and floors the way that a vacuum really should. I know pet owners can relate when I say that a lot of vacuums blow hair around once you get on hardwood or tile, rather than suck it up. This is definitely not the case with the Dyson DC25. It goes from carpet to floor and back to carpet with ease and the ball technology makes it so incredibly easy to maneuver.

Another reason I really enjoy vacuuming now is that this vacuum only weighs 16 pounds which is nothing compared to the weight of vacuums I have had in the past. This is light enough for me to carry up and down the stairs and even use the attachment on the stairs without struggling.

Speaking of the attachment, it couldn't be easier to use. All you have to do is flip the top cap open, pull the wand up and it disconnects and turns into a cleaning tool. A tool that really works, with real power! Oh, and the mini-turbine attachment actually keeps spinning when you touch it to upholstery. This must be the first attachment that I've ever had that actually cleaned my couch. I would say, one change that I would have made is that the mini-turbine does not snap onto the vacuum anywhere but as long as you remember where you put it, there's not a problem.

The Dyson DC25 has no filters or bags to continuously replace and there is no belt that breaks. The bin is super easy to use, although it could be a tad bit bigger. If you have a larger home or a lot of hair, you may need to empty it a couple of times. Also, you need to keep in mind that when transferring to wood floors and delicate rugs to turn the beater brush off.

Set up was pretty easy and didn't require any tools and I really appreciate that Dyson uses recyclable cardboard for their interior packing rather than Styrofoam which clogs the landfills. The Dyson DC25 comes with a 5 year warranty which is substantially longer than most other vacuums.

This vacuum may be quite a bit more expensive than others on the market but it is well worth it. The features are well thought out and the vacuum does not lose its suction.
