I bought this heater specifically for my basement. This is where the kids hangout with their friends and although it is a completely finished room, it is quite cold down there in the winter. I contemplated purchasing a much larger heater but I figured for $70.00 I would give this one a try and if it wasn't warm enough for them down there, I would just add another one. This thing puts out some heat! For its small size, the basement is incredibly comfortable.

The DeLonghi DCH4590ER is a 1,500 watt ceramic heater that has a really easy to use remote control and a nice easy to read digital control panel. The heater is on an oscillating base so the heat is distributed evenly and it quite user friendly, I did mention the kids are using this. The thermostat is programmable so you don't have to fuss with it to turn it up or down and there are three power levels to choose from. The minimum power level is often what the heater ends up on once the space is warm and this level uses little energy and is extremely quiet.

The heater has a 24-hour timer and an anti-dust filter that can be removed for easy cleaning. It also is equipped with an auto shut off should it tip or get knocked over by a child or a dog so you can feel safe running it. I will say, if you have long carpet you may need to set this heater on a magazine or a table. There is a lever on the underpart of the heater that won't allow it to turn on if there is long carpet or something disturbing it. I have tried putting it on the rug and thought it was broke until I moved it. I actually appreciate this feature but if you run into trouble and yours won't run, this could be the problem.

I am quite pleased with this heater. It definitely serves its purpose and I'm glad I didn't purchase anything larger or more expensive.
