Cutco Homemaker + 8 Set With Block

Rating: 5 out of 5
  • Currently 5.0/5.0

Whether you've used just generic kitchen knives in the past, or an expensive J.A. Henckles set in the past, some of the best knives around are Cutco. While the name may sound a bit cheesy, the product is simply amazing.

Often people are not aware of how a fine set of knives can make life easier for them, or even how sharp knives can make life easier. No knife should ever have a hard time cutting a ripe tomato, or easily slicing through bacon. Knives should not have to be sharpened just before use, every day to achieve a fine edge.

I have been using Cutco for years. My mother purchased a set in 2002, with the purpose of butchering animals on her farm. The edge was so magnificent, she butchered a cow and two pigs over the course of two years before having to send her knives back. Cutco knives have a lifetime edge guarantee, which means you send your knives back when they get dull. The edges are achieved by hand on a special machine. Its similar to a grinder, but produces a much finer edge.

For most people, the edge on a Cutco knife will last about 4 years of heavy use. The knives are so well made that I only use the french knife in the set. The Homemaker + 8 Set has everything one could need from a knife set. The set includes paring knives and utility knives and carving knives and carving forks, as well as a 10 piece set of their versatile Table Knives, which is the best of a paring knife and steak knife combined. The set is wrapped up in a fine block, made of hand crafted oak, which comes in either honey or cherry finish.
