I purchased the Cuisinart Prep 11 Plus DLC-2011 food processor in early August of 2010 and have used it approximately eight times since then. I was looking for a food processor to use during the holiday season that would make my life simpler and cooking more efficient. What I have noticed so far is that the food processor is very consistent and performs well across the board in chopping, shredding, slicing, pureeing, and even kneading dough. I would say this food processor is a middle of the road machine in terms of price. The suggested retail price was $159.99 at a local department store. The machine came with a three year warranty on all parts and a ten year warranty on the motor. I have had no problems with the machine but like having the back-up warranty plan available just in case.

So far, there are more pros than cons in using the machine. The only con I have found so far is the safety features of the blades. I have cut myself trying to disengage the blade and feel that there should have been some better designed mechanism to prevent this from happening. Some other reviews I read after my purchased discussed the need to chop up long items before feeding them down the chute because the blades did not engage properly. I am used to chopping up carrots or celery in about three pieces anyway so this issue did not annoy me.

There are two speeds on the machine and the feeding tube or feed tube is much wider than most chutes I have seen on other food processors, making it easy to poke a lot of food down at one time. This makes the chopping process very efficient and quick. I can see where machine will save me a lot of time when preparing homemade stuffing, among other dishes. I recently made a batch of homemade salsa in literally 8-10 minutes.

I do wish this machine came in stainless steel as opposed to white. I would love to leave it out on the counter with as much time as I am using it, but it just doesn't match my appliances. In all, I am very pleased with the Cuisinart machine and highly recommend it to anyone in the market for nice consistent performing food processor. The machine is simple to use and very easy to clean. It comes apart in a few pieces which makes hand-washing a breeze.

Default I just asked my husband for one like this!

I really need a Food Processor and based on several reviews I believe the Cruisinart Prep11 plus is the best. I like the bowl size (it seems big enough to accommodate vegetables and fruit...), and what I really liked was the dough and pulse functions. The pulse seems essential to control the quality of chopping and slicing and keeping the food consistency perfect, not always pureed. Can you tell me your experience about this pulse feature?
Actually, I just publicly asked my husband for one <a href="http://www.squidoo.com/cuisinart-prep-11-plus-dlc-2011chb-food-processor-review"> like this </a>
